the link at the bottom of this page to enter your institution.
University Students may compete as biathletes, tetrathletes or
pentathletes.
Sixth-form students may only compete as tetrathletes or
pentathletes.
Provisional timetable (please
consult joining instructions and event programme for confirmed event times and
locations):
Friday: Registration OPENS 18:00 & CLOSES 18:15, ride draw
– 18:15; walk ride course at Blewbury Equestrian Centre 18:15, first rider warm
up 18:45; first rider enters arena 19:00
Saturday: Combined event/Fence at Iffley Road Sports Centre start 08:30,
Men’s Pent/Tet Combined event start 08:30
at cricket schools/running track, Iffley Road Sports Centre, Women’s Pent/Tet
combined event starts 11:00
Women’s Fence start 08:30 Main sports
hall, Iffley Road Sports Centre; Men’s Fence start 11:00
Biathlon run start (incl. Bi registration;
Iffley Road Sports Centre Running track 14:00,
Swim (all competitors) at Iffley Rd
Pool - women’s warm up 17:10; men’s warm

ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE MEMBERS OF THE
MODERN PENTATHLON ASSOCIATION OF GREAT BRTAIN (PentathlonGB – formerly MPAGB).
This is essential for insurance purposes.
A new student membership is now available for £7, please visit www.pentathlongb.org and fill in the online form or ring the
office on 01225 386808.
ALL COMPETITORS FOR THE RIDE EVENT MUST
have a “Youth A” or higher ride certificate lodged with PentathlonGB HQ and be
capable of completing safely a 90cm course.
ALL COMPETITORS FOR THE FENCE EVENT MUST
have a fence certificate lodged with PentathlonGB HQ.
ALL COMPETITORS FOR THE SHOOT EVENT MUST
have a previous experience and a good working knowledge of range safety.
PentathlonGB Membership and Certificates will be checked automatically
and entry will not be possible until these minimum requirements are met. Those athletes with memberships which will
expire before the event will be able to enter but must renew before the closing
date; this will be checked.
Competition Fees: £ 32 Full pentathlon or Ride Tetrathlon; £
15 Fence Tetrathlon; £7 Run & Swim biathlon
Biathlon Teams consist of three athletes of the same sex.
Pentathlon Teams are mixed and consist of three athletes of either sex.
Team members must be from the same academic institution, or related
institutions at the organisers’ approval.
• All athletes must be university students
or sixth form students (or on a single gap year between school and university;
gap year students may compete for the school which they attended in the sixth
form).
• The biathlon team competition will be
decided by totalling the run and swim scores of all three team members.
• The individual pentathlon competition will
count scores over all five events.
• The pentathlon team competition will be
decided by totalling all the event scores of each team member. The winning team
will be the team which has the highest score across all five events. Following
a review of the scores from a number of national pentathlon competitions, the
ladies scores will be amended by 350 pentathlon points for the team pentathlon
competition to ensure that the results are equalled out for the gentlemen and
ladies.
• In order for a team to be eligible for the
pentathlon team competition, each team member must contest at least four events
and each pentathlon event must be contested by at least one member of the team.
• BUCS medals are awarded to the first three
competitors in the individual competitions; and the first three men’s and
women’s teams for the biathlon.
• BUCS medals will be awarded to the first
individual university male and female pentathletes; and the first three
university pentathlon teams.
• Prizes will be awarded to the first
individual sixth form male and female pentathletes and the first sixth-form
pentathlon team.
The ride is limited to 60 competitors;
please get entries in early in order to avoid disappointment.

The Organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and
Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must
take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and
must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and
stewards.
